On the night of the
grad I did perform my jokes and today I know that this was a
huge turning point in my life. My
fear of people was conquered. However,
God had one more lesson for me to learn from Michael and Pat.
After the graduation
program, on the very last day of the Life Skills class, I
truly got it. I
spoke to each person in the class and told them what it was
that I had appreciated about them and how I felt about them. When
I finished speaking to each person God spoke to me about
Michael and Pat. It
was an honor to tell them what they had taught me.
Michael and Pat
Chubb had taught me about God’s love for me by demonstration
and personal conversation. They showed me
through all of Life Skills class
sessions what it was to be a child of God. Through
their unconditional love I learned what it was to be a
Christian. You
must understand that they never once spoke about Jesus; they
lived and demonstrated God’s love for all to see.
I am forever
grateful to have had the opportunity to have participated in
that Life Skills class. I
will be 5 years clean and sober on October 10, 2006. In
these four and half years I have taken what I learned and I
daily put it into practice. Today
I have become a licensed Pastor for the Foursquare
Church
and I owe much for whom I have become today to the example
that Michael and Pat shared with us all.
